Summer Intern

LDWW is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working interns to join the LDWW team. At LDWW, we believe real-world intern experience helps to foster a topnotch professional. That’s why, as an LDWW intern, you will get firing-line, hands-on experience in the world of PR and communications. A sample of your tasks may include, but are not limited to the list below.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, writing, and pitching approved news releases and media alerts
  • Researching, outlining and writing feature materials, video scripts, web copy and other client program writing assignments
  • Assisting with media relations, including pitching, researching, scheduling interviews, and developing media backgrounders
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local, regional and national media
  • Following up with members of the media to track and ensure client inclusion in stories
  • Assisting with planning, organizing and executing special events, if needed
  • Assisting in the development of communications plans – for internal and external communications programs – as needed
  • Assisting with research as it relates to new business, client business or agency business
  • Helping to coordinate special media requests, media familiarization trips and other media needs
  • Managing LDWW’s social media sites
  • Proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc.
  • Developing weekly client status reports, program trackers, media coverage recaps, etc.; assisting with reporting progress against goals
  • Monitoring daily and weekly for client media coverage
  • Creating client-ready media clippings
  • Some limited direct client interaction may be required, as appropriate
  • Some limited travel may be required based on client programs

Quallifications

  • Ideal candidates will be intellectually curious, street-smart and eager to learn.
  • Candidates must be self-starters and demonstrate an ability to produce quality work while paying close attention to details.
  • Strong deadline orientation and ability to work within limited time frames is important.
  • Writing experience (in a classroom or for an internship), is a plus.
