Director, Social Media Content
The Director, Social Media Content, will lead the creation and execution of social media content for clients across multiple industries. This highly creative, hands-on role emphasizes short-form video and real-time content production. You’ll be responsible for generating ideas, shooting, editing, and publishing content that engages audiences and strengthens brand presence. The role requires flexibility, including travel, weekend shoots, and occasional holiday work to capture content on location, but offers the ability to set your own schedule around events and shoots.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute social media coverage of live events, including creating shot lists, capturing on-site lo-fi style content (example: shot on iPhone with tiny mic) and posting edits in real time.
- Develop and execute social media content strategies across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other platforms.
- Concept, film, edit, and publish original short-form video content.
- Travel to client locations, events, and activations for real-time content creation.
- Stay ahead of social media trends, sounds, and cultural moments and leverage them according to brand standards.
- Repurpose long-form assets into platform-optimized, short-form content.
- Collaborate with social media managers, project managers, designers, and account service teams to align content with brand voice and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the social team’s community engagement lead to proactively leverage sentiment and social commentary in content creation.
- Manage social media calendars and plan around campaigns, events, and key dates.
- Track KPIs, analyze content performance, and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Experiment with new tools, features, and formats to keep clients ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience creating and managing video content across Youtube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms.
- Must be located in the OKC metropolitan area.
- Strong skills in video production and editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.).
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with a knack for short, engaging captions.
- Deep understanding of organic engagement strategies and platform best practices.
- Ability to balance multiple client accounts, calendars, and deadlines.
- Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
- Comfortable with working independently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Agency or multi-client experience preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- 50% travel expected.
Physical Requirements
- Able to be on your feet for extended periods of time, able to move and lift objects, and capable of bending down and squatting
- Willing to travel to multiple venues and locations throughout the state, and the potential for national travel
- Available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Able to work on a computer to deliver information and upload images
