Public Relations Account Executive (Entry Level)

LDWW is looking for a Director (0-1 years of experience) to join its communications/PR team and assist on the firm’s work for nationally recognized brands. Looking for candidates who are strong writers, detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

Communications/PR/Media Relations

  • Provide initial drafts of media materials (news releases, pitch emails, social posts, etc.) and develop writing skills over time.
  • Pitch press releases and story ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online outlets and all media segments, as necessary.
  • Learn fundamentals of media search tools, media research (Muck Rack, Google, news sites, etc.) to develop media lists for clients and their key initiatives, products, and services.
  • Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople – in person or over the phone – work with account team to staff interviews. Discuss key topics with reporters, note key messaging needed for the interview and create comprehensive media backgrounders for all secured media opportunities.
  • Follow relevant news sites and generate ongoing story ideas and topic angles.

 

Account Service/Client Relations

  • Participate in client meetings/calls and accurately capture meeting notes, next steps, etc.
  • Develop reporting skills, including ability to monitor, analyze and communicate results from PR/media and/or digital/social campaigns, along with monthly activity recap reports.
  • Proactively provide ideas that strategically align with client business goals.
  • Read daily about client industries for ongoing education and awareness.

 

Team/Workflow Management & Collaboration

  • Demonstrate good teamwork and supporting both managers and teammates on client/agency work.
  • Show willingness to jump in on projects or help other client teams, as needed.
  • Proactively update team members on the status of work, key milestones and deadlines.
