Pub­lic Rela­tions Account Leader

Full-Time

LDWW is looking for a Director or Managing Director (6-10 years of experience) to join its communications/PR team and assist on the firm’s work for nationally recognized brands. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in media relations/media strategy and the ability to manage accounts and teams.

Responsibilities

Communications/PR/Media Relations

  • Drive comprehensive media strategies that support client goals, including everything from targeted pitches and accurate media targeting to developing holistic campaigns.
  • Direct staff independently on media relations and interactions with media, while continuing to work directly with top-level media on a regular basis.
  • Possess the ability to discuss effective media strategies with clients and independently provide counsel on plans, programs, media responses, issues management, etc.
  • Consistently provide client ready materials.
  • Provide key messaging that is consistently on the mark related to campaigns, initiatives, client business strategies, etc. with little input/oversight, and suggest new messaging to clients.

Account Service/Client Relations

  • Serve as day-to-day account lead for 1-2 clients, including as strategic contact for senior clients. For additional accounts, serve as one of the main points of contact for counsel and strategy.
  • Effectively run client meetings.
  • Finalize all communications strategies, social media, and marketing plans.
  • Expertly manage all ongoing client reporting for projects/campaigns and annual client goals.
  • Identify issues before they become problems and provide solutions proactively and independently.
  • Develop good working relationships with clients and be able to offer credible options and solutions related to strategy, execution, issues management, merchandising, etc.
  • Be fully aligned with clients on timelines and the activities that will be executed as part of the overall strategy and be in consistent communication with the client to ensure needs are being met.

Team/Workflow Management & Collaboration

  • Effectively supervise team members with fewer years of experience.
  • Groom/train junior staff on best practices in PR/Communications and Account Service.
  • Mentor junior staff including ongoing discussions about career goals.
